Who we are

Neosmart was started in 2021 by Lee and Pascale in an effort to bring high-quality, personal service to the smart industry. As a business carrying that family feel, we are accessible and available. As a tight-knit team filled with not only automation experts but also qualified electricians, we are able to navigate all the technicalities with fluidity.

What we use

We are brand-neutral. The platform is chosen to suit the property, the brief and the budget, rather than the other way around.

Control4

One interface for everything

A single, consistent way to run the whole house.

Control4 is a complete smart home platform with its own controllers, touchscreens, keypads, remotes and app. Its strength is breadth: a very large library of drivers means it will talk to televisions, audio equipment, heating, blinds, locks, cameras and intercoms from hundreds of other manufacturers.

That makes it a natural choice where a property has been fitted out over several years and needs bringing under one roof, and where the household wants the same app and the same remote to behave identically in every room.

KNX

The open standard

An open standard rather than a single supplier.

KNX is not a brand. It is an open international standard for building control, supported by hundreds of certified manufacturers, so a system is never tied to the fortunes or the product roadmap of any one company.

Devices communicate across a dedicated bus, usually wired, and hold their own control logic. Lighting, blinds, heating and ventilation therefore keep working as a system rather than depending on one central box staying online. It is the most robust option for larger properties, and for anyone who expects the installation to be extended and altered over decades.

Lutron

Light and shade

Dimming and shading, handled properly.

Lutron does two things and does them exceptionally well: light control and motorised window treatments. The quality of a dim, particularly across mixed LED loads, is where cheaper lighting control tends to fall down, and it is why Lutron is specified on projects where the light itself is part of the architecture.

Keypads replace banks of switches with a few clearly engraved scenes, and blinds and curtains can follow the sun through the day. HomeWorks covers larger homes; RA2 suits smaller installations.

Crestron

Engineered to the brief

Built precisely around an unusual brief.

Crestron is the most deeply programmable of the four, which is why it appears in large houses and in commercial buildings where a system has to do exactly what was specified rather than something close to it.

Alongside control, it distributes video and audio around a building over structured cabling, so one set of sources can serve many rooms. Crestron Home offers a more standardised residential setup, while a fully programmed system remains the answer when a project’s requirements are genuinely out of the ordinary.

Most projects use more than one of these products.

Which one leads is a decision for the design stage, before anything is bought or a cable is run.
